  • Stay in Unzen-Amakusa National Park (volcanic area featured in Scorsese’s “Silence”)

  • Visit Christian martyrdom sites & memorials

  • Experience hot springs and traditional Japanese ryokan with onsen

  • Formal Japanese dinner & overnight stay

7.DAY

Kyoto

  • Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion, UNESCO site)

  • Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier (first missionary to Japan)

  • Walk along Kamo River & Gion Geisha District

  • Overnight stay in Kyoto

10.DAY

Akita → Tokyo

  • Visit Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Akita – the site of the 1973 apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Sister Agnes Sasagawa

  • See the miraculous statue of the “Weeping Virgin of Akita” (linked to Fatima apparitions)

  • Time for private prayer

  • Return by Shinkansen to Tokyo, overnight stay

  • Evening arrival in Tokyo

Nagasaki

  • Visit Hongochi Monastery (“Japanese Niepokalanów”)

  • Museum dedicated to St. Maximilian Kolbe

  • Lourdes Grotto & Oura Catholic Church (oldest in Japan)

  • Nishizaka Hill – Memorial of the 26 Martyrs of Nagasaki

  • Peace Park & Atomic Bomb Memorial

8.DAY

Kyoto – Fushimi Inari & Temples

  • Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine – iconic red torii gates (featured in Memoirs of a Geisha)

  • Nijo Castle – residence of Tokugawa shoguns

  • Kiyomizudera (“Temple of Pure Water”) – one of Japan’s most important Buddhist sites

  • Overnight stay in Kyoto

11.DAY

Tokyo & Departure

  • Visit Tokyo Cathedral

  • Imperial Palace (Edo Castle) – former residence of shoguns

  • Transfer to airport, return flight Tokyo → Warsaw

Tokyo & Mt. Fuji

  • Excursion to Mt. Fuji, Japan’s sacred mountain (viewpoints depending on weather)

Hiroshima & Miyajima
