Arrival in Malta / Valletta

• Meeting at the airport in Frankfurt/Warsaw, flight to Malta

• Valletta tour: Barrakka Gardens (panoramic view of the Grand Harbour & Three Cities), St. Paul’s Shipwreck Church with relics of the Apostle, St. John’s Co-Cathedral (Knights of Malta’s spiritual center)

• Walking tour: Grand Master’s Palace, Manoel Theatre, La Vallette Monument

• Dinner & overnight – hotel in Malta

4.DAY

Gozo Island

• Ferry crossing to Gozo (30 minutes)

• Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu (papal pilgrimage site)

• Dwejra Bay (site of the former Azure Window rock formation)

• Victoria (Citadel) & Xlendi Bay

• Return to Malta, dinner & overnight

2.DAY

• The Three Cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea, Cospicua)

• Excursion to the historic “Three Cities,” strongholds of the Knights of Malta

• Fortifications and sites related to the Great Siege of 1565

• Return to hotel, dinner & overnight

5.DAY

Mellieha, Popeye Village, Mosta, Sliema & Harbor Cruise

• Visit Mellieha Sanctuary of Our Lady

• Popeye Village (film set turned attraction)

• Mosta Dome Basilica (famous “Miracle of the Bomb” in 1942)

• Sliema promenade & Harbor Cruise (1.5h boat tour around Valletta & fortifications from the sea)

• Dinner & overnight – hotel in Malta

3.DAY

Mdina, Rabat, Dingli Cliffs, Blue Grotto, Marsaxlokk

• Mdina (former capital), fortified medieval town

• Rabat: St. Paul’s Grotto & Church (visited by Pope John Paul II in 1990)

• Dingli Cliffs (panoramic views of the Mediterranean)

• Optional boat trip to Blue Grotto (weather permitting)

• Marsaxlokk fishing village – colorful boats, traditional market

• Return to hotel, dinner & overnight

Departure
